Travel Back in Time...

As you stroll down the long drive you can almost hear the voices of the past.  The house was once owned by the Woodward familiy, and many of the the streets are named after members of the family.
We were told by the last Woodward family member to be born in the house that there was many a tea party held here.  They also said that the grounds were emaculately groomed with exotic plants, trees, and flowers along beautiful pathways.  We have completely restored the house and carraige house and are working to find and restore the paths and gardens as well within the five acres.  So come take a walk back in time.  The large field of cotton that meets the back of the property seems endless and is lovely in all its stages.

Interesting Facts:
  • The sunroom was added in 1934 by a Mr. Mosley.  It was the last room added to the house.
  • The Woodward family lived in the house, but we have no clear evidence of the original builder.
  • An old, detached kitchen was moved and connected to the original house at some point in the house's past.
  • The masonry of the chimneys and foundation are all of different eras through out the house.
  • We found a Woodward Dairy sign covering and old well, so at some point it may have been a family dairy farm.
  • We have found two confederate rifleman buttons.  Also, the battle of Aiken was fought near the property.
